The Business Challenge
The Digitals 2013 brought two high profile digital industry awards together, under a new Brand for the first time. Econsultancy wanted to ensure that their new awards platform positioned itself as the UK digital industry standard, embracing the breadth of the Centaur Media Group and reaching out across the digital agency and client base.
Econsultancy needed to build excitement, anticipation and engagement in the build-up to the Digitals, whilst providing a platform for ticket sales and sponsor value. On the night of the Digitals, the requirement was to harness the excitement of the event and publish in real-time to the outside world.
The Digitals StoryStream used LiveHub and Live Broadcast, delivering a StoryStream that built anticipation pre-event while amplifying the buzz during the event.
Econsultancy curated a beautiful developing story around the Award nominations, highlighting creativity, commercial challenges, people and results. Themed content enabled the viewer, through LiveHub, to engage with content at the broad surface level, and then delve deeper into the article view immediately their interest was captured.
At the event Live Broadcast played out the Digitals StoryStream in real-time via two large on-stage screens. Once the audience realised that their social content was being curated and published to the in-event audience in real time, engagement went through the roof.
The Digitals StoryStream also delivered Econsultancy a digital “Yearbook’, capturing the whole essence of the event, reinforcing the experience post-event with attendees and providing the comms platform for 2014.
