The Business Challenge
After great success with a hashtag campaign in the fall of last year (#OutdoorSelfie) Cotswold Outdoor wanted to re-engage their fans across social media with a competition to celebrate the arrival of summer. By collaborating with a key sponsor, LED Lenser, they offered a combination of a great product and two tickets for the Red Bull X-Alps event as sought-after prizes.
They needed a home for the competition hashtag to feature on their website as well as a way to showcase the entries as the competition were unfolding.
Cotswold Outdoor embedded StoryStream LiveHub via an iframe onto the competition landing page. Styling of the iframe allowed for a beautiful and seamless integration into the existing site. Once the brief was received by StoryStream Cotswold Outddor were able to go live with the competition with very short notice and minimal development time, encouraging entries through core social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Cotswold Outdoor received more than 50 entries during the first week of the competition, with a wealth of beautiful and positive user-generated photography. The average time spent on the stream is over three minutes, with over 20% of visits coming from smartphones. The competition is running until mid July so be sure to check back then for the final results!
